To keep inside the cooking chamber, the door is equipped with a positive lock and seal mechanism and a full-perimeter gasket. During the cooking process, the flow of steam is cut off to the cooking chamber when the door is opened and resumes once the door is closed. The operator can see the status of the food with a cooking light, a ready light, and a 60-minute electric timer that sounds an audible alarm at the end of the cycle. It can sit flush on the countertop, be installed on adjustable 4-inch legs, or be stacked with a kit that is sold separately.
